Dear DVTF Members –I’m sure all of you have read or heard with dismay about the murder of Laura Taft and her baby. Many of you have called me saying that the Task Force should “do something”, and I agree. For starters, I have
sent the attached Letter
to the Editor to the St Pete Times today and hope it will be published.
I would like to encourage each of you to send a letter to the
newspaper, to the State Attorney’s Office, to the chief judge, or
whoever you deem appropriate, from your perspective. This is not a
problem for just CASA and The Haven to speak out about, the DVTF and
its members must speak out also.
I hope that there will at least be something good that comes out of
this horrific crime…please do your part. If you have any suggestions
for what we can do as a task force, please let me know at .
It reminds me that we didn’t do our candlelight vigil at the end of
January like we’ve been doing, so maybe this is a time to do one,
somewhere in Clearwater or at the courthouse or some location related
to this case maybe?
