Crime Compensation Benefit Increases Jan. 16, 2008 | Print |  E-mail
Increases in benefits as of January 16, 2008 The funeral burial benefit will increase to $6000 - $5000 to provider and $1000 to a claimant for other funeral-related expenses.  (All claims regardless of when the crime occurred will be paid at the new rate effective January 16)

The mental health cap for adult victims will increase from $2500 to $5000.  
The mental health cap for minor witnesses will increase from $2500 to $$5000. The mental health cap for forcible felony (no physical injury) will increase from $2500 to $5000.
Grief counseling for surviving parents, step-parents, or adult siblings will increase from $2500 to $5000
Note:  Victims who have reached the previous $2500 cap will be eligible to receive an additional $2500 for crime related mental health expenses.

PLUS:   The revised Sexual Battery Forensic Exam Claim Form (Form is currently being printed and will be ready for distribution within the next week - hopefully)
